Born in Moscow in 1938.

Between 1950 and 1956 attended Moscow’s secondary art school, affiliated with the Surikov Institute.

In 1957-1962 studied under A.D. Goncharov and E.M. Belyutin at the Institute of Graphic Arts and Publishing.

Since 1962 has been contributing his works to non-conformist art shows.

In 1995 the Tretyakov Gallery held Yankilevsky’s solo show.

Does paintings, graphic works, book illustrations and objects.

Lives in Paris and Moscow.
