Born in Alapayevsk, Sverdlovsk Region, in 1939.

From 1957 to 1962 studied at the All-Union Institute of Cinematography, majoring in cinema history.

Had no formal training in arts.

Took up painting in 1959.

From 1962 contributed his works to non-conformist art exhibitions.

Did paintings and graphic works.

Died in Moscow in 1989.
