Born in Moscow in 1893.
From 1904 to 1911 attended the Stroganov School of Industrial Design.
In 1920-1923 headed art workshops in a number of towns of Northern Russia, the Urals and Siberia.
In 1939 joined the Moscow branch of the Artists Union (MOSKh).
A leader and mentor of artists and poets of the Lianozovo group; expelled from the Artists Union in 1963 for the organization of that group and for 'formalism'.
Contributor to non-conformist art shows from the 1960s.
Did paintings and graphic works.
Died in Moscow in 1979.
